The P4 Language Consortium is incorporated as an independent 501c(3) California non-profit. Its goal is to ensure that the P4 language is available for free for anyone to use, and will remain so. The P4 Language Consortium is glad to receive recommendations and proposed edits to the P4 Language Specification. Membership of the P4 Language Consortium is free to any individual or company who would like to join. The consortium is overseen by two Board members: Nick McKeown (Stanford University) and Jennifer Rexford (Princeton University). The Bylaws are available upon request.

The P4 specification and any contributed code are licensed under the open source Apache 2.0 License.
